Spring Brings A High Rise to Randolph Street

It was just about a year ago that we told you about crews planting building seeds at 609 West Randolph Street. Eleven months later, a high-rise is sprouting, just in time for Spring.

As usual, West Loop Spy Kurt can be counted on to aim his iPhone 11 at the scene, and send us these pictures of the tower crane being assembled.

Though this Vista Development office building is rising in what used to be a surface parking lot at 609 West Randolph, like a high school beer run, it’s using the ID of its older brother next door, 601 West Randolph. Both are co-owned, and the new Antunovich Associates design will loom ever-so-slightly, over its 1890’s-era code orange older brother.
